Welcome to School Year 18-19
Here at Garfield County SD 16, we feel that it is important for our community to know what is going on in the Nutrition Department.

DID YOU KNOW - That all District 16 students can eat breakfast for free. We offer provisional 2 program at Bea Underwood and the Center for Family Learning that covers the cost of breakfast to your student. Grand Valley Middle and High Schools operate under the universal free model so all students can start the day with breakfast at no cost to them. If your student comes home hungry - ask them if they ate breakfast - IT'S FREE!
We are continuing to offer breakfast after 1st hour at GVMS and GVHS.

We are here to provide your children with a delicious and nutritious school meal. Please feel free to either leave a comment or email us if you have any questions.

Garfield 16 Food Services provides approximately 800 lunches and 650 breakfasts every day. During the 2017-2018 school year we provided over 135,000 reimbursable lunches, and 75,000 breakfasts to our students.

We are constantly changing and trying new items.
You will notice some smoothie choices at breakfast this year with some creative names - encourage your children to give them a try.
The National School Lunch Program is a federally assisted meal program operating under the guidance of the Federal Government, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Nutrition Division of the Colorado Department of Education.
It continues to be the intent of Congress that nutritious meals be available to all school children regardless of the household's ability to pay.

Garfield County SD 16 Food Services Department participates in the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Afterschool Snack Program. As a participant in these federally funded programs, Garfield County SD 16 complies with USDA regulations and mandates.

We are excited for this school year. We have continue to use Infinite Campus online payment system.

Available again this school year sack lunches when students travel on Expeditionary Learning trips. This is available at all schools. Look for the information on the field trip form, or a phone call to the kitchen to place your order will make sure your student gets lunch.
A reminder that we offer a universal free breakfast program at Grand Valley Middle School and Grand Valley High School. The Center for Family Learning and Bea Underwood Elementary are both Provision 2 schools. Students that attend these schools eat breakfast and lunch at no charge.
Please fill out the free and reduced application and data survey for these programs to continue.
We look forward to a great year!
