G16's School Board (Board of Education) has a vacancy. If you are interested in serving your community, please send a letter to the Board of Education with a statement of interest and related qualifications/experience by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026.

Please list all students and their siblings who live in your household. Families may register only once per year.

Have at least one student currently attending Garfield County School District 16
Provide a working phone number
Provide your current address
Identification may be requested when gifts are picked up.
Please make arrangements for someone to pick up your gifts if you are unable to do so during our regular business hours. We cannot hold gifts or distribute them at a later date.

GVMS Outdoor Education Class climbed high and low, learning how to communicate, work together, and overcome their fears last week on the Grand Valley Challenge Course right here in Battlement Mesa.

La Clase de Educación al Aire Libre de GVMS subió alto y bajo, aprendiendo a comunicarse, trabajar juntos y superar sus miedos la semana pasada en el Grand Valley Challenge Course aquí en Battlement Mesa.
Esta clase es una forma para que los estudiantes salgan del aula tradicional para aprender habilidades de por vida para explorar y disfrutar de la naturaleza.
Durante este semestre, los estudiantes de la clase aprenderán sobre jardinería, Leave No Trace (no dejar rastro), gestión de riesgos, ciclismo de montaña, pesca y supervivencia en invierno. Los estudiantes también harán un poco de aprendizaje práctico para un proyecto de su interés, como la fabricación de arco, trabajo de cuero, seguimiento de animales y más!

Garfield 16's School Based Family Resource Center (SBFRC) would like to thank the Battlement Mesa Ladies Golf Club for hosting another successful Golf for a Cause Tournament. School District staff, community members, and golfers of all skill levels came out to compete for prizes donated by our generous community.
The SBFRC is fortunate to be chosen as the beneficiary of this tournament. Thank you to the Ladies Golf Club, participants, volunteers, and sponsors for making this a great event!

GVHS Cheerleaders were proud to host the performance of the Youth Cheer Camp. Pee-Wee Cheerleaders learned from GVHS Cheerleaders during the week. The team then performed during the GVHS Football Halftime Show! Way to go current and future cheerleaders!!

We would like to meet the incredible families that support our students at the GVMS Back to School Night.
We will be serving hot dogs out front, thanks to Alpine Bank, and offering an open house for you to meet teachers, see your child's locker, and tour the building. In addition, you will be able to visit with representatives from transportation, the Parachute Branch Library, G16 Communications, and Western Colorado Migrant Services.

G16's School Board (Board of Education) has a vacancy. If you are interested in serving your community, please send a letter to the Board of Education with a statement of interest and related qualifications/experience by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026.
