About Garfield County Outdoors

Garfield County Outdoors (a Generation Wild community) is a community-wide initiative to get more youth and families in western Garfield County connected to outdoor recreation end educational opportunities. Our focus is bridging the gap for families and kids in our community to experience the outdoors.

The following organizations will provide programming in both Garfield County School District 16 (Parachute/Battlement Mesa) and Garfield School District No. Re-2 (Rifle, Silt, New Castle): Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, CSU Extension, Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers, The Buddy Program, Colorado Mountain College, Rocky Mountain Youth Corps., and Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

This is all made possible through funding from the Colorado Lottery. Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) is the founding and supporting organization.
