CFL 1st Grade Ambassadors visited Mesa Vista this morning to spread some joy amongst the residents there. Our CFL Ambassadors colored pictures and shared them with their new friends.

Congratulations to GVHS Senior Abbey Parker. Abbey surpassed 1,000 career points as a GVHS basketball player. Abbey was joined by her brothers, Sam Parker, a 2015 GVHS graduate, and John Parker, a 2016 GVHS graduate. Sam and John are also in the 1,000 point club. Abbey and her brothers were honored last night, along with three other 1,000 point club members: 2022 graduate Emilio Garcia, 2019 graduate Shaya Chenoweth, and 2017 graduate Kylyn Rigsby.

GVHS had a jam-packed assembly yesterday. Complete with a "snowball" fight, staff basketball game, lip-sync/air band competition, and introduction of royalty nominees. We will post images with royalty nominees and winners soon. See the GVHS Facebook page for more photos.

Dear G16 families,
We learned of secure protocol (exterior doors locked, but business as usual inside) in RE-1 and RE-2 school districts. This was due to notification by law enforcement that there was a general online threat to school safety in Summit County. At this time, we are monitoring the situation. We are in direct communication with officials in local school districts, law enforcement, and our School Resource Officer.
These are the appropriate steps that school districts take to ensure the safety of students and staff. //

Nos enteramos del protocolo seguro (puertas exteriores cerradas, pero como de costumbre adentro) en los distritos escolares RE-1 y RE-2. GVMS Girls Basketball Games Tonight!

Last Friday, our Outdoor Education Coordinator, Ari Philipson joined GVHS students to prepare their skis and snowboards for the winter season. Philipson provided wax and irons for students to wax their skis and snowboards. GVHS students brought in their equipment and learned how to properly care for their gear. This activity is in preparation for the GVHS Outdoor Club's Powderhorn trips.

Our Outdoor Education Coordinator, Mr. Ari visited CFL's first grade classes to give an "animals adaptations" lesson. Students were able to look at pelts from several different animals. CFL first graders were able to touch the pelts, noting their texture, color, and how those characteristics match the environment where the animal lives.
Nuestro Coordinador de Educación al Aire Libre, el Sr. Ari visitó las clases de primer grado de CFL para dar una lección de "adaptaciones de animales".
