We recommend having insurance for your student. Our school/district has selected the Student Insurance Plan from K&K Insurance Group to make reliable coverage available to parents. If you don’t have other insurance, this plan may be a resource to consider. Additionally, even if you have other coverage, this plan can help fill expensive “gaps” caused by deductible and co-pays. Coverage may be purchased at any time during the school year by visiting www.studentinsurance-kk.com.

Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch during the school year, will pay a reduced fee for summer programs. If you are not sure if you student qualifies for a discounted fee, please call 970-285-5701 to ask. 

Yes. After registration is complete, we will work on setting up bus routes. There will be limited bus routes, not the usual stops as the normal school year. We will send information to the guardians of registered students as soon as possible. 

If  your student is participating in G16 programs, then yes, your student will be fed lunch and an afternoon snack. If your student is participating in Grand Valley Recreation Center programs, you will need to pack a lunch for your child, and an ice pack to keep any perishable items cool. 

Please list any medical conditions or medications we need to be aware of in the registration form. We will be sure to give your student the care they need. 

Summer programs are first come, first serve. If you register your student and pay the fee, your student will take that open slot. If your student is not able to attend the full week, or does not come at all, we will still charge $50 for the spot your child filled. There will be no refunds for students who attend partial weeks. 

We ask that each child has the following: 

1. Tennis shoes.
2. Water bottle.
3. Sunscreen applied prior to drop off.
4. Packed lunch if attending GV Recreation Center programs. 
5. Hat in your student's backpack. 
6. Sunglasses in your student's backpack. 
7. Each program counselor/teacher will provide a list of an additional items.

Camps are considered a school per Colorado law (6 CCR 1009-2). This means that camps have many of the same immunization requirements as schools and child cares.  

The webpage has two sections. The first is for families and includes information about:

• Colorado school vaccine requirements

• Vaccines as powerful tools for prevention 

• Understand, prepare, and send vaccination documentation to camps. 

The second is for camp administrators and medical personnel and includes information about:

• Verification of immunization documents to ensure campers are: 1) current for all camp-required vaccines, or 2) have an exemption on file, following Colorado school requirements. 

• Detailed implementation requirements, including the requirement to exclude noncompliant campers. 

• Understanding official immunization records.

• Resources for using the Colorado Immunization Information System.
